1982 NL Game: St. Louis @ Mon.

September 28, 1982

 The St. Louis Cardinals have now lost 6 games in a row after the Montreal Expos defeated them 7-5 tonight. Steve Rogers pitched well enough to pick up his 21st Win for the Expos. With the victory Montreal has pulled within 1.5 games of the NL East leading Cardinals.

Shortstop Chris Speier slammed a homerun and had 2 RBI at Olympic Stadium
where the Montreal Expos beat the reeling St. Louis Cardinals by the score of
7 to 5.
 
St. Louis was unable to claim the lead after Montreal went ahead in the 2nd
inning scoring a single run on 3 hits.  St. Louis made it exciting in the
9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.  
 
Steve Rogers(21-7) allowed 4 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Jeff Reardon earned the save, his 23rd.  Bob Forsch(16-7) suffered
the loss.
