Mario Soto racked up an impressive total of 20 strikeouts as the Cincinnati
Reds defeated the Houston Astros by the score of 4 to 0 at The
Astrodome.

Soto(15-10) escaped virtually unscathed against the Houston hitters. He
didn't give up much, just 4 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings. The pitchers took
over after the 2nd inning as neither team was able to score again.

Frank Dipino(1-3) was given the loss. Bob Lillis was obviously impressed with
the pitching of Soto, 'That guy made us look a little silly out there
tonight. We just couldn't get to him at all - everything was working for
him. I just hope that he got that kinda performance out of his system.'
