1982 Al Game: Sea. @ Min.

April 8, 1982

  Seattle's Richie Zisk (pictured) had a 4 hit 5 RBI day at the plate as the Mariners crushed the Minnesota Twins 10-0. The 1st shutout in MLB this season was a combined effort from Gene Nelson and Edwin Nunez. Seattle swept the season opening series against Minnesota 3-0 much to the chagrin of the Twin's hometown fans.

Designated hitter Richie Zisk had 4 hits and 5 RBI as the Seattle Mariners
ballclub embarrassed the Minnesota Twins by the count of 10 to 0.
 
Zisk enjoyed a fine day at the plate.  He ripped a solo home run in the 2nd
inning, laced a base-knock in the 6th inning, lined a base-hit bringing in
two baserunners in the 7th inning and doubled plating two runs in the 8th
inning.  For the game Seattle out-hit Minnesota 12 to 5.  
 
The victory was credited to Gene Nelson(1-0) who went 5 and 2/3 innings,
allowing no runs. Ed Nunez recorded his 1st save.  Brad Havens(0-1) was
tagged with the loss.
