1982 AL Game: Det. @ Tor.

April 13, 1982

Jack Morris threw a 1-hitter tonight and the Detroit Tigers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 9-1. Morris (pictured) threw a beauty of a game, allowing only 1 hit in the 6th inning to Ernie Whitt (on a catcher-X chance). An error was also committed by Detroit in the inning giving Toronto an unearned run. For Morris it was his 2nd complete game Win of the 1982 season. Richie Hebner hit 2 homeruns to lead the Tigers' hitting attack.

First baseman Richie Hebner blasted 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Jack Morris
tossed a fine 1 hitter at Exhibition Stadium where the Detroit Tigers beat
the Toronto Blue Jays 9 to 1.

Hebner had a big evening at the plate. He hit a bases-empty home run in the
2nd inning, ripped a base-hit resulting in a run in the 5th inning and lofted
a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 9th inning. Detroit rapped out 13 hits for
the night.

Morris(2-0), allowing 1 run for the game, picked up the victory. Mark
Bomback(1-1) absorbed the loss. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up
6 runs in 4 and 2/3 innings.
