Everyone in the Tigers lineup scored or drove in at least 1 run. Starting pitcher Dan Petry went 7 innings allowing 2 runs for his 10th Win of the season. Detroit increased their AL East lead to a commanding 13 games over 2nd place Milwaukee with the victory.

Catcher Lance Parrish cracked a homer and had 3 RBI as the Minnesota Twins
were badly beaten by the dominant Detroit Tigers, 15 to 4.
Dan Petry(10-6) had a solid outing for Detroit. He allowed 5 hits and 4 walks
in 7 innings. Detroit bats were hot in the 8th inning which saw them score 9
runs on 3 hits. Detroit had 11 hits for the night.
Jack O'Connor(3-2) suffered the loss. He allowed 7 runs and 6 hits in 7 and
1/3 innings.
