1982 AL Game: Det. @ Chi.

July 7, 1982

My Detroit Tigers came into Chicago today winning their last 6 games in a row and 9 of the last 10. The White Sox were on a 9 game winning streak so something had to give today.
The game was a pitchers duel until the bottom of the 7th. Starter Jerry Ujdur and the Tigers were holding a 1-0 lead when Chicago exploded for 4 runs. Vance Law hit a bases clearing double with 2 out in the bottom of the 7th to give the White Sox the lead 3-1. Chicago added another run and won the ballgame 4-1. They now have a 10 game winning streak and Detroit's streak comes to an end.

In a game at Comiskey Park the seemingly unstoppable Chicago White Sox got by
the Detroit Tigers by the score of 4 to 1.

Kevin Hickey(4-0) pitched in relief and was credited with the victory. He
surrendered 2 hits and no walks in 1 and 2/3 innings. The game was a
scoreless duel until the 6th inning.

Salome Barojas preserved the game for Hickey, recording his his 5th save.
Jerry Ujdur(3-2) took the loss. This win by Chicago continues their recent
hot streak. In their last ten games, they have a record of 10-0. For the
