After a see-saw 8 innings Boston scored 3 runs in the top of the 9th to take a 11-8 lead. But Minnesota came right back with 3 runs of their own in the bottom of the 9th to send the game to extra innings tied 11-11. The Red Sox tallied 2 runs in the top of the 10th, but once again the Twins came back in the bottom of the 10th. This time Minnesota scored 3 runs to finally win the game 14-13.

Both teams were tied at 11 runs apiece after nine innings. Minnesota won the
hard fought contest in the 10th inning. Bush led off and started the rally
when he drew a walk. Mickey Hatcher stepped up to the plate and he drew a
walk. Tim Laudner then doubled scoring a run. Lenny Faedo followed and he
stroked a single giving Minnesota the win and sending the home town fans into
a frenzy. Minnesota bats were hot in the 5th inning when they had 4 runs on
5 hits. The game was a wild affair with the lead changing hands 8 times.
The victory went to Darrell Jackson(2-4) who went 2 innings, allowing 2 runs.
Mark Clear(2-2) was hit with the loss in relief. Minnesota now has a record
