The Montreal Expos were hitting on all cylinders and won Game 5 of the World Series, defeating the California Angels 10-5. Montreal had 18 hits and 8 walks in the game. Andre Dawson (pictured) led the attack by going 5 for 6 with 4 RBI. His 3-run homer in the 2nd inning highlighted a 5 run inning for the Expos. For the 3rd time this Series Gary Carter and Al Oliver hit back to back home runs. Steve Rogers wasn't at the top of his game but he went the distance and picked up his 2nd Win of the Series. Geoff Zahn started for California and he didn't last past the 2nd inning. The Angels scored 3 runs in the 3rd making the score 6-4 in favor of the Expos, but the bullpen was ineffective this game going through 5 relievers.
California still leads the Series 3 games to 2 and will now head to Montreal for the rest of the Series. Bill Gullickson is scheduled to start Game 6 for Montreal in 2 days. Bruce Kison is scheduled to start for California.
